The rumor in the summer was that the DCU Huntress would be Korean and that DC Studios would look for a Korean director.

I mean, if you want to make skin tone that important. People in the same Italian family will have varying skin tones. It would be weird to consider them different races.

Well there are some latino and arab families of different races.
White latino marries a brown latino or black latino for example.
Her mother clearly looks different racially then her father.

They don't. I think this is just a lack of familiarity with Italian families. Of course there are bi-racial Italians. But people who are 100% Italian run a gamut of skin tones.

It's just the case that a segment of Italians, Latinos, Arabs, Jews, Greeks, and North Africans look somewhat alike, without sharing any heritage. (Or at least any relatively recent heritage. Lot of travel between those areas throughout history of course.)

    Ok.

Although, since Selena is established as Sicilian for a while now, Earth-2 Huntress is also Sicilian.

"Black" and "white" also aren't races and different cultures have different notions of who's considered "black" and who's "white."

So are telling me the mother and the huntress are dark whites naturally?
    No such thing.
The mother looks like a different race then the father.
She does not look white and the huntress does not look white either.
    They are not white.
    The father looks white.
To me and others it looks like a interracial family of Italians.
You have that with other groups mention above some times too.
Anyway a random person looking at the art would see that as well.

    Dude, what?

You're telling me that me and my brother are different races then.

(This is why race is such a stupid concept.)

Anyone could clearly see she is black.
Read the comments inside the link below because some folks are not happy with the race change.

As much as I wanted to see Sasha Calls return as Super girl even if a different reality version from the one she played, someone phrasing "white actress" as an accusation is silly. I think Pete being black on "Smallville", the going back to being white in " Man of Steel" establishes that you can do it either way.

To me, Super girl not being white is no different than Grant Austin's Flash not being blond- - irrelevant. But, the character is mostly thought of as white and blond. Which is interesting only in that I loved Helen Slater and Melissa Be moist is Super girls but I like Sasha Calls even more though that might have faded with time if she had to be sustained over multiple stories.

P.S. Writing this on a tablet and auto-correct is really beginning to irritate me.

That is how Helena is currently being portrayed? Why?!! I don't get these race-bending decisions. Why not just introduce a new character with these features?! Helena as either Batman's daughter or daughter of an Italian mobster with classic Italian features didn't need updated. Or retire Helena and introduce a new character as Huntress. There has to be a better way to introduce diversity than race-bending characters that have been around for decades.

    Word of God says differently.

And the second picture kinda looks like my sister.

I am a Sicilian telling you that some of my family is dark-skinned, and your response is that they don't exist. This is starting to get offensive.

This seems a bit like how Westerners think Asian anime character sometimes look white, while they look Asian to Japanese audiences.
