It must be surreal to be in the lead running for a role you are concurrently playing in animated movies .

    Cool .

Be interesting to see how they approach this version of Kara.

In before we get Kryptonian Game of Thrones .

What is a 'more hardcore' Supergirl tho? Ugh.....I don't like the sound of that.

Someone about to join the "neck-snapping" hero club! ... j/k If Gunn's involved, I'm pretty sure the movie won't lose the heart even if it dives into some harder territory along the way. From the description I imagine he means we'll explore Kara's trauma of having lost her world in a way we don't get from Superman because he was just a baby - he didn't have a whole life on Krypton prior to its destruction.

Woman of Tomorrow Kara was kind of grumpy and processing a lot of trauma while still trying to be a hero and good role model.

This is such a non-story any franchise film from James Bond to the MCU or even the old studio system constantly had Director's work on films where they didn't have a say in the lead's casting.

It isn't weird for franchises and sequels for movies that already exists.

In the old Studio system, the director didn’t do casting either.
There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!
