Hickman Ultimate Universe (Earth 6160) General Discussion and Spoilers

A shame that Marvel allowed the Bendis and Millar's Ultimate Universe to DIE by allowing the creators to kill off the characters. This is what happens when you keep a creative team on a series for too long. They get bored as time passes along. No longer excited about their creation.

You can just say Jeph Loeb and the bad Ultimate Comics he wrote.

Marvel kills off Bendis's Ultimate Universe instead of passing the torch to Hickman, thus avoid creating the secret wars crisis...

Are we talking about Hickman's current Ultimate Universe, or his work during the original one? I understood that it was him who resigned (from all Fantastic four, Ultimate Comics: Ultimates, and SHIELD, which he was writing at that time), not that Marvel removed him. At that point Marvel still had interest in keeping the Ultimate universe going, and Hickman was an influential author: besides Ultimates, he wrote the minis of Thor and Hawkeye and was involved in the collaborative writing of Fallout. If he had stayed, he may have left a stronger mark in it over time and perhaps it may even had become "his" universe (or at least in equal shared parts with Bendis and Millar, rather than just Bendis/Millar as it is known today), but that was up to him.

man the two issues of Ultimate X-Men really rough. Peach Momoko is the wrong artist for this book. She should just do an independent manga instead. It doesn't even feel X-Men to me. Just feels like another manga, which sets the wrong tone.
