Use A list characters? Iron Man was B/C list until the movies. GOTG were Z list until the movies.
Make a good movie first, then think about big picture setup.

EP9 only brought like 30m profit.

Wow. That’s so easy. Why does anyone ever make a bad movie when it’s so simple?

You understand there are separate teams doing these things. The writers, director and crew of each individual movie are only focused on making that movie. They don’t know what’s going on in the rest of the MCU outside of their movie beyond being told which characters they can use and which they can’t.

Feige and his inner circle determine how each movie will fit into the big picture and overall narrative.

So these two things can happen simultaneously. There is no need to prioritize one over the other.

You just tell this thread wasn't made with any good faith in mind.
Especially when if OP is gonna complain about Marvel making project around lesser known characters as if that's not how the MCU started.

Someone please explain this revisionist history people love doing Iron Man was not a household name before the MCU, neither were the Guardians, or Thanos

It's ok to use even tier Z characters, but you need to do a good job to build them up rather than just to expand the universe or start major plot.

Something they have been doing across 30+ movies. I think they know what they are doing. This is like if a baseball player had a string of home runs and as soon as they strike out fans start yelling at them how they should hit the ball.

And I'm also pretty sure that the movies and streaming shows didn't made them 4 Billion.

Than they also had this Star Wars Hotel that they had to shut down, so they likely lost also money on that thing.

And I have no Idea how their Star Wars Theme Park stuff is doing.
Obviously you’ve never been to Disneyland/World and seen the lines for any of the Star Wars rides. Or the people that pay extra for those rides to skip the line. Oh. They have made their money back and more.

Why is that whenever you encounter someone with problems with the MCU you accuse them of arguing in bad faith? There is a difference between bad faith and having a perspective or opinion that you happen to disagree with. Slowpokeking's perspective is that Marvel's success was not just about building out their shared universe but also the fact that they were plain good movies. Their argument was not any sort of complaint against lesser known characters. This "bad faith" accusation you like to throw around is getting tired, not everyone enjoys the MCU, and that's okay.

They seem to enjoy talking about it though.

    Obviously The Marvels say otherwise.

Yes, but the movie didn't meet their expectation.

I don't think it has to do with 1 movie's quality, but it has been a long while and ppl finally got bored.

They knew what they were doing until recently. A lot of mistakes but they are taking steps to correct them. Some fans have left after Endgame and some fans have left after seeing the most recent movies/tv shows. Whether they come back or lose or gain more remains to be seen.
