Agreeing with both of you.
I can’t decide if Si Spurrier has just got better at writing Kurt over the series or if Kurt was so out of character on Krakoa because of other factors? I suspect the former, which is why the current short run format of books is so problematic; writers barely get time to bed in and get a real feel for the characters, any characters.
I’m sure Si researched Kurt before he began, I am going to have to go back and read all the series in their entirety. But it’s one thing to research and quite another to really ‘get’ a character. We fans have it easy, we usually hyper focus on our favourites, but a pro has to work with characters they are given.
