How much is Takes Off just s retread of the movie? The clip I saw made it look pretty much exactly the same for plot. Does it stick more to the comic?

it takes a very wild turn after episode one and then tells its own story, due to (spoilers)

Time travel, Scott apparently dies fighting Mathew Patel in their first fight. Romana then spends most of the rest of the rest of the show trying to figure out what happened. It turns out an older version of Scott kidnapped him to stop him from getting together with Ramona, after going through some version of the plot from the comics or movie. An even older Scott shows up later and fights the entire cast including all the exs, having learnt all of the exs techniques. Todd Ingram's moon holes seem to of still happened thought aren't mentioned particularly.
