Default DC Hero or VILLAIN whose name you mispronounced

Are there heroes or villains (or maybe towns or cities) whose name you mispronounced for years before finding out you were wrong?

I still don't know which pronunciation is correct.

I originally read Darkseid as "Dark Seed." It was an Orion story and with him being the son of Darkseid, I thought it was a play on Orion being his "seed."

I used to pronounce Elongated Man "Ellen-Jaded Man" as a kid, because my friend used to say it that way and I assumed he knew what he was talking about.

I pronounced it that way initially, but decided "Darkside" made more sense.

There's only one that comes to mind, maybe I'll think of others later. Usually, if I came to a name I didn't know how to pronounce I would just skip over it. My mother, who read a book a day (albeit usually a Harlequin Romance), told me that whenever she came to a word she didn't know, she just skipped it, and she did okay. With names like Mxyzptlk, that's what I'd do. But E. Nelson Bridwell provided the proper pronunciation for Mxyzptlk (and Mxyztplk) in the Superman letter column and after that I never forgot it.

The one that I did mispronounce was Socrates--the name of a villain in WORLD'S FINEST COMICS 178 and 180 (look it up). I knew nothing about Ancient Greek philosophy, so I said that name like Bill and Ted: So-Crates. That's exactly how it was spelt--how should I have known any different?

I assumed that the apostrophes in J'onn J'onzz were glottal stops, so Juh-onn Juh-onzz.

I think I also pronounced it Dark-seed the first time I read his name.

Apparently everyone had been pronouncing Constantine incorrectly.

In the original comics, the Hellblazer's surname is actually pronounced "Constan-TYNE." (As John himself once said, it rhymes with "fine.")

^^^So-Crates is how I’ve intentionally pronounced it for over thirty years now, because of Bill & Ted.

I think I pronounced it "John Johnz" initially, until I found out his Earth name was John Jones and did the math.
