I was gonna say Brady Bunch because I REALLY hated Oliver, but he isn't really a baby...

    FRIENDS

Specifically in the case of Ross and Rachel (I was actually rooting for Chandler and Monica to conceive and was devastated when they couldn’t then really happy they adopted). That baby was a symbol of everything that was wrong w. them as a couple, and it served to highlight how much of a backstabbing needy manipulative asshat Ross was.

Not to mention he used the baby as a way to get Rachel to give up her dream job and trap her into a relationship she didn’t want to be in.

Didn't ruin the show, but Adam the 2nd child of Darren and Samantha on Bewitched was completely unneeded.

Gimme a Break the adding of Joey was already dubious at best but then adding Matthew too was just like enough.

Sam on Different Strokes only kid to get kidnapped on tv where I was rooting for the kidnappers to keep the kid. Well besides Savannah Smiles but that was because I liked the kidnappers in that film.

They all suffered for adding a baby. It's jumping the baby shark.
Yup Mandalorian never recovered after adding that baby! Joking aside batman brave and the bold did a funny take on this in the last episode.

Ironic the kids were pretty popular at the time. Not as big as pebbles and bam bam but they got a spin-off series of their own, animated cartoon tv special, comics, books, dolls and record based on them at the time.

Cousin Oliver (Robbie Rist) showed up as Dr. Zee on GALACTICA 1980. He was later replaced in the role by a young James Patrick Stuart.

The Ingalls family had baby Grace on Little House On The Prairie but she didn't really affect the show. As a matter of fact, we hardly ever saw her.

Now Albert was a different story for sure. He was a complete annoyance.

The Walton's also brought in some annoying new cousins in the last season or, so the kids' grandmother was played by Peggy Rea who also joined the cast since Olivia was off with TB because Michael Learner had left, and Grandma had a stroke in real life. Add New John Boy and god did that show go downhill.

The baby had nothing to do with them getting back together though, was she? I dont remember her even being mentioned.

Some shows lose their babies. On MCMILLAN & WIFE, early on Sally is pregnant but then nothing comes of it. In a later season, she has a baby, but subsequently the baby is completely ignored. And then when Susan St. James leaves the series she takes the non-existent baby with her.

On MELROSE PLACE, they have babies but these babies are stolen and someone always ultimately leaves the show with the baby. So even though babies are born, they quite kindly get gone, so we don't have to deal with them.

Probably best to drop kick the baby--it's only going to get in the way.

Not only was the Baby never mentioned again after being born Susan St. James's character was killed off in the last season and he still never mentioned his son.

On the Doris Day show she had 2 sons in the 1st 3 season then they retooled the show and her sons disappeared and were never mentioned again for the last 2 seasons. Lucille Ball's show the Lucy Show from 62-68 she had 2 kids who were eventually written out and never mentioned again and Vivian Vance's character's son simply wasn't mentioned again with no explanation to where he went.

Happened on Petticoat Junction too. At the end of 1969 season Betty Jo was going to have another baby. Then CBS was going to cancel the show. Then decided to add one more season so there'd be enough color episodes for syndication. But with that last season, no baby and no mention of it

Yes - it was super annoying the way he burned down the blind orphanage. Jason Bateman wouldn't have done that...
