Rod or Ring?

I was always fond of the original Gravity Rod. It's abilities weren't that much different, and I rather preferred it for its limitation: it wouldn't work in daylight. I miss superheroes having constraints on what they could do and when.

In the Silver Age, some sort of technobabble about the gravity rod drawing it's power from lunar whatchamawhoozit and the 'lunar radiation' being drowned out / overwhelmed by solar radiation, would get invoked, but the same thing would apply.
