    Keep the purple eyes. Always.
I just wish they decided between black hair and brown hair for her.

I know, right?! I'll always prefer the brown hair, but the artwork nowadays makes it a tough decision sometimes...

I prefer a variety of looks and definitely auburn highlights in the hair.

Purple eyes should be her definitive look, imo.

My personal pref is brown/dark brown hair but I think changing every now and again is okay.

So I don't know which way I should vote on the question...

I think dark hair has become her signature.

I think Lois' utter lack of a definitive look works in her favor.

She can have long hair, medium hair, short hair, auburn hair, brunette hair, black hair, brown eyes, blue eyes, grey eyes, etc.

The only kinda consistent visual for Lois is that she is never tall (the more to contrast with Superman's massive size).

To be clear that's Stacey Haiduk who played Lana Lang in the Superboy tv series in the 90s.

Dark hair and blue eyes was Lois's definitive look until the post Crisis reboot.
It still bothers me that Amy Adams played Lois as a redhead.
The introduction of her violet eyes in the 90s has been a great addition I prefer to keep, along with her classic dark hair. Hair style can vary.
I do think it's a plus in the visual medium of comics to be able to recognize the characters by their appearance, especially when it's a character who doesn't wear a costume.

Though I think there's a reason that the long, dark, hair with purple eyes is more common than other Lois looks.

LOL! I love when they put emphasis on her height

If she hadn't identified herself, I never would have taken her as Lois. Makes the need for a more consistent appearance as far as i can see.

I totally agree. It would be a big plus for any character who doesn't have that quality.

If I were to choose a definitive look, it would be purple eyes and brown hair for comics and animated mediums. I'm more flexible for live-action.

Doesn't really matter, IMO. The time it would be most handy would be if you wanted to cosplay as Lois Lane and weren't cosplaying with a companion dressed as Superman. As a civilian in a superhero comic book, you are dependent upon a) being portrayed within the context of the titular superhero or b) having your name on the cover so everyone knows who you are and what kind of story the reader is reading. Bruce Wayne would be confused for any other 6'2", 210 lb, athletic, brunette, white man in a comic book without those contextual clues, too.
