Just imagine Ms. Marvel understanding than her idol has been a villian all the time. Oh, the pain!! Oh the drama!!

Say, has Kamala Khan ever met Rogue? Kind of wonder how she feels about the whole thing that traumatized Carol for years (and wasn't too easy on Rogue for quite a while as well)

There are some rudimentary "superpowers", yes, but it's minimal in comparison: Vulcans can only do the mind meld, and that's nothing compared to the feats of Xavier or Jean Grey. Star Trek also places a lot of emphasis on quasi-military ranks, and Marvel... got rid of SHIELD many, MANY years ago and never tried to bring them back.

And more than that: conflicts in Star Trek are hardly ever decided by the strength of photon torpedoes but by a battle of wits.

Star Trek is great, and in fact IDW is making great Star Trek comics right now, but it's a concept that does not work in the Marvel Universe. Even if Marvel got the rights, they should keep it as a franchise of its own, as they do with Star Wars.
Marvel's version of The Federation that would comprised of The Kree Empire, The Shi'ar Empire, The Technarchy, and Skrull Empire working together...

Not sure if anybody's mentioned it yet but there's of course the Star Trek nod in the M'kaarn crystal issues of X-men.

Kind of wonder about Shi'ar and Tal Shiar having similar roots for the name, or if the name in Trek was based on X-men, as TNG featured several easter eggs to other non-Trek pop culture things.

Another note about that Trek panel-the captain is named K'rk.

He also shows up in the early Brood saga stuff.

There's another thing: many Star Trek stories end with the captain giving a "you should be so ashamed" speech. In comic books? People hate when comics are just people talking. Using an ending like that will not go well.

Carol Danvers giving moralist speeches... That is just what comic book fans want. S/

Dan Slott and Mike Allred had success with the Silver Surfer as Doctor Who.
