    I think restorative nostalgia is the number one issue with comic book fans.
    A fine distinction between two types of Nostalgia:

    Reflective Nostalgia allows us to savor our memories but accepts that they are in the past
    Restorative Nostalgia pushes back against the here and now, keeping us stuck trying to relive our glory days.

    Little Lotta is a series that wouldn't get published today, but Harvey Comics had a successful run with it from 1953 - 1972 and intermittently after that. Lotta was a character who gained extraordinary strength through her constant effort to satisfy her voracious appetite. It was basically seventeen years of fat jokes.
