BTW If anyone genuinely wants to know any poster's opinion on an easily searchable keyword there is an Advanced Search option under the Search Thread link in the upper right of the thread, where you can search posts by a specific poster containing specific words. It's pretty easy to get an idea of where they stand within 5 minutes of starting your search, with more detail granted the more you go down the rabbit hole.

    Thought you had moved on.

If the posts bother you that much then don't read them -- problem solved.

I do want to note there are two potential issues with trying to discern what someone has said based on search terms.

One issue is that a post might use slightly different terminology. If you're curious what someone thinks about racism and the terms they used were "racial animus," "bigotry" or "racists," you're not going to get those posts in the search results.

The second problem is that you're going to find a lot of comments that don't feature a poster's opinion. For example, if anyone is curious what I think about Matt Gaetz, and looks it up on this thread or the previous one, it seems there are a total of 66 (mostly in the previous thread- in fairness I've got more than ten times the posts there.) In some comments, it'll be clear I don't like the guy, but others are more neutral. The search results can include posts in which I'm responding to someone else who mentioned him, even if my response is about a different aspect of the post (IE- slagging Marjorie Taylor Greene or something.)
Yes..agree.. the search facility here has severe limits. Not that unusual, it’s true on many sites.

In addition…if you were seeking some one views on something…you’d have to allow for fact, that views change over time, so a view expressed a year ago might not reflect a person’s current opinion.

The irony of this conversation taking place because the issue of bigotry and homophobia has yet to be addressed within the Republican party (specifically the Parents Rights Movement) shouldn't be lost on anyone.

Granted, some people feel they will be treated "ungenerously" for expressing views supportive of homophobic and racist sentiment, so the silence is understandable -- if not the moral and ethical hypocrisy.

It's a waste of time to repeatedly discuss the border "problem" yet not analyze the bigotry, lies and racism that manufacture issues where there are none and impede solutions where they are apparent.

At least Democrats are trying to fix the border situation while Republicans do nothing except kill bipartisan legislation because they're hopelessly beholden to an obese, orange skinned sociopath who doesn't want solutions, only chaos which benefits him. Oh, sure, inhumane Republicans can kick out immigrants 24/7, but, guess what? That doesn't work! Those poor unfortunates just turn right around and try again, and keep on trying since they have no other options. We should demand that South American governments step up and deal with the poverty and violence that forces frightened people to pack up and leave. THAT'S the real solution!
    Man...

You are talking like that violence has nothing to do with The United States.

If said violence is an element of a black market based on illegal drug sales, is The United States not the bulk of the market for those illegal drugs?

You want to talk about at least starting to work towards starting to potentially solve those problems?

You've got to at least be able to admit to yourself that America just being America drives a lot of what creates those problems.

What’s that got to do with the search facility here having severe limitations?

The real solution is just to discuss the issue at hand -- which has already been done extensively with regards to immigration, abortion, and various other topics.

But not with regards to the Republican bigotry and obstruction that is behind the vast majority of the problems being discussed.

Which would be a hell of a lot more than Qpublicans are willing to do.

But you completely ignored my actual post and talked about a completely different issue, and have just done exactly the same.

It must be beyond obvious that I don’t support the Republican Party, and I can’t remember the last time I ventured an opinion on immigration or abortion.

Can you really not understand why I am baffled at your replies to my posts?

Nothing was taken from your point regarding the search engine by pointing out the lack of discussion regarding the matter that began the conversation in the first place.

And your post was not ignored -- it was just cited as being an inferior alternative to having a real dialogue about the many issues raised by right-wing bigotry and prejudice.

But why did you feel the need to quote my post about the search engine when your comments had nothing to do with my post?
