People were pretty awful in every era. The difference now is the internet makes it more apparent by giving everyone the opportunity to be awful immediately to everyone everywhere.
It also removes the corrective action to personal attitudes that shaming by families and friends used to provide. No matter how awful someone’s beliefs and opinions are they can now find an online community who will respect and reinforce those beliefs. They’re rewarded that wonderful hit of dopamine when some faceless, nameless entity compliments or simply “likes” whatever awful comment they make. That reward prompts them to escalate the awfulness resulting in a downward spiral.

    Have a great day everybody!

And to continue to show little to no concern for the victims of anti-LGBT violence?

From both a moral and an objective standpoint the answer clearly is “no”.

There is a stark difference between being right and ignoring and deflecting when one is wrong.

This is a basic Republican tactic that has been the standard since Reagan and most egregiously abused when Bush joked about not finding WMDs after launching the War in Iraq against the protest of allies and millions of American citizens.

They treat this like a game and ignore the real toll it has on human lives.
I’ve often wondered if someone embraces the conservative ideology because they initially lack empathy or if that virtue is slowly eroded over time because their ego’s won’t allow them to ever admit to themselves they may have been wrong.
    Probably both I guess.

Mike Pence announced on Fox yesterday that he will NOT endorse Donald Trump. He did, of course, wait until all his serious primary opponents had dropped out to find his "courage".
Why would he support the guy who wanted to hang him alive, and he was a few feet from dying if he just went a few more feet down the hallway?

Wait he didnt? Saved it for the book? Even then he didnt go 100 percent against Trump? Even when he was running agianst him?

Yea the man is a profile in backbone and courage.

Because he’s a Qpublican, and Qpublicans put party before EVERYTHING. I’ve already said this, but while Pence won’t support Trump, you can bet the mortgage and the kid’s college fund that he’ll vote for him before he does Biden or any Democrat.

Pranksters dupe Tucker Carlson into believing they edited Princess of Wales photo

Pranksters claiming to be a Kensington Palace employee fired over the Kate Middleton edited photograph fiasco say they duped former Fox News host Tucker Carlson into interviewing them for his streaming show.

In a video posted on X that has already received more than a million views, Josh Pieters and Archie Manners explained how they concocted a story about being released by the Prince and Princess of Wales for “not doing a good enough job” in manipulating a photograph of Middleton and her children that has stoked an international furore and endless conspiracy theories.
The “disgruntled former employee” act was apparently convincing enough to fool production staff at the Tucker Carlson Network (TCN), who invited Manners, posing as the royal couple’s former digital content creator, to a London studio and an interview with the rightwing personality.
They convinced TCN researchers of their authenticity by creating a fake contract of employment that featured the words Every Little Helps, the motto of the British supermarket chain Tesco, in Latin on a Kensington Palace crest, and a clause in which the royals reserved the right to “amputate one limb of their choosing” if Manners failed a probationary period.

“If Tucker Carlson’s people read this, why on earth would they let you on the show?” Pieters says in the video.

Manners told Deadline that following the interview, TCN told him it would be aired early the next week, but that he and Pieters decided to break cover now to avoid misinformation being broadcast to the network’s 530,000 followers on X.

The Republican nominee for superintendent overseeing North Carolina’s public schools and its $11 billion budget has a history marked by extreme and controversial comments, including sharing baseless conspiracy theories and frequent calls for the execution of prominent Democrats.

Michele Morrow, a conservative activist who last week upset the incumbent Superintendent of Public Instruction in North Carolina’s Republican primary, expressed support in 2020 for the televised execution of former President Barack Obama and suggested killing then-President-elect Joe Biden.

In other comments on social media between 2019 and 2021 reviewed by CNN’s KFile, Morrow made disturbing suggestions about executing prominent Democrats for treason, including Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar, North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper, former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, Hillary Clinton, Sen. Chuck Schumer and other prominent people such as Anthony Fauci and Bill Gates.

“I prefer a Pay Per View of him in front of the firing squad,” she wrote in a tweet from May 2020, responding to a user sharing a conspiracy theory who suggested sending Obama to prison at Guantanamo Bay. “I do not want to waste another dime on supporting his life. We could make some money back from televising his death.”

The GOP is a full on freak show at this point, but the NC GOP is definitely trying to take the lead.

Trump Says Some Migrants Are ‘Not People’ and Predicts a ‘Blood Bath’ if He Loses

Former President Donald J. Trump, at an event on Saturday ostensibly meant to boost his preferred candidate in Ohio’s Republican Senate primary race, gave a freewheeling speech in which he used dehumanizing language to describe immigrants, maintained a steady stream of insults and vulgarities and predicted that the United States would never have another election if he did not win in November.
The dark view resurfaced throughout his speech. While discussing the U.S. economy and its auto industry, Mr. Trump promised to place tariffs on cars manufactured abroad if he won in November. He added: “Now, if I don’t get elected, it’s going to be a blood bath for the whole — that’s going to be the least of it. It’s going to be a blood bath for the country.”
The former president opened his speech by praising the people serving sentences in connection with the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the Capitol. Mr. Trump, who faces criminal charges tied to his efforts to overturn his election loss, called them “hostages” and “unbelievable patriots,” commended their spirit and vowed to help them if elected in November. He also repeated his false claims that the 2020 election was stolen, which have been discredited by a mountain of evidence.

If he did not win this year’s presidential election, Mr. Trump said, “I don’t think you’re going to have another election, or certainly not an election that’s meaningful.”
Mr. Trump also stoked fears about the influx of migrants coming into the United States at the southern border. As he did during his successful campaign in 2016, Mr. Trump used incendiary and dehumanizing language to cast many migrants as threats to American citizens.

He asserted, without evidence, that other countries were emptying their prisons of “young people” and sending them across the border. “I don’t know if you call them ‘people,’ in some cases,” he said. “They’re not people, in my opinion.” He later referred to them as “animals.”

    Despicable person…

    Other despicable people:
“First responders arrived at the site of the strike and immediately began to extinguish the fire, clearing the rubble and searching for victims. And then there was a second missile strike,” she said, adding that eight rescuers had been killed.

Apparently the Russian forces have been making a habit of these “double taps”…

Trump supporters are out in force trying to add a community note to tweets about the bloodbath, stating that he really, really only used it as a metaphor for the economy and the auto industry. Trump's niece tweeted that he does not deserve the benefit of the doubt here, and they still copied the same note. So far, none of them has been voted up enough to show.

How many of those "non-people" work for Trump at Mar-a-Lago? Probably more than a few. How many of those "animals" break their backs daily toiling away in jobs that red blooded WHITE Americans wouldn't touch or couldn't handle? Give me a break. As for his prediction of violence if he doesn't win, that in itself is patently laughable, his legions of loons would wet their pants and run home screaming for their mothers when faced with REAL warriors. Meanwhile, look for nervous and jittery Qpublicans to scoff and say Trump was "just kidding" and "wasn't being serious" when questioned about his repugnant comments. Those gutless cowards don't dare contradict Trump for fear of having him aim his MAGA Maggots at them.
