Don't you mean that is on the GOP for letting their party be taken over by a guy who is trying to return America to the 1950s? With misguided folks letting their dislike for certain demographics blind them to what the plan is that will hurt them MORE than it will others?

18-year-old male student who was fatally shot outside Bowie High School in Arlington Wednesday has been identified as Etavion Barnes.

A 17-year-old student is in custody, according to police.

Arlington Police Chief Al Jones said officers found Barnes unresponsive on the ground when they arrived to respond to a shots-fired call outside the portable buildings on the Bowie High School campus at about 2:50 p.m. "The officers immediately began performing life-saving measures on him while we waited for paramedics to arrive," Jones said. "The young man was transported to the local hospital, and I'm truly heartbroken to say he was pronounced dead from his injuries. Bowie High School was immediately placed on lockdown."

Jones said officers found the suspect, a 17-year-old male student, not far from the school and he was taken into custody.

A state school safety law went into effect last September requiring armed personnel on every campus in Texas. According to Arlington ISD’s website, Bowie High School has one school resource officer.

This bill also compelled school districts to create active shooter plans, health training for certain school faculty and put restrictions on those who carry a gun in school.

Despite instituting these new school safety requirements, Texas lawmakers allocated only $10 per student for security measures—a 28-cent increase over 2022. Lawmakers also set aside $15,000 in grants to provide each campus, but that’s just a fraction of an armed guard’s salary.

Less than two weeks ago, there was a shooting at Wilmer-Hutchins High School in southeast Dallas. One student was injured in that shooting and a 17-year-old suspect, also a student at that school, was arrested.

Several masked men burst into a Stockholm theatre on Wednesday night and set off smoke bombs during an anti-fascism event, Swedish police and participants said.

Around 50 people were taking part in the event at the Gubbangen theatre in a southern suburb of the Swedish capital, organised by the left-wing Vansterpartiet and Greens parties.

"Three people were taken by ambulance to hospital," the police said on its website, adding that it had no information about the injuries suffered.

According to the Expo anti-racism party, which had been invited to give a presentation at the event, "a group of Nazis" came into the theatre foyer just before the event was to begin and threw smoke bombs into the hall.

Yeah because it worked out so well for the Democratic Party the last time they swapped out an incumbent President for someone else. Google "presidential election 1968" if you don't believe me.

If Biden would have decided not to run it would have been very difficult get Harris to step aside too. She would be the most likely replacement and she’s even more unpopular than Biden. If the party tried to convince her not to run or championed someone else there’s a good chance the chatter of “why are you forcing a woman who is POC to step aside?” would start and it would be bad optics.

The alternative could have been Gavin Newsom. I’m ok with him but I have doubts that he can win over mid-west swing state voters.

You misread my rhetorical question. All the previous elections have shown Democrats more energized in the real world.

And there is another difference: Biden is a highly successful president and likable guy. The reason he's unpopular in the polls is mostly Fox News, Gateway Pundit, Putin etc. As long as that machine is still around (and we're seeing first cracks with the death of GP), every candidate will be unpopular in the polls. It would be insane to give in to the propaganda machine and replace a successful incumbent.

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has suspended public duties to "stop and reflect" on whether to remain in the job, after a court opened a preliminary inquiry into his wife.

In a statement, the Spanish leader said he urgently needed to decide "whether I should continue to lead the government or renounce this honour".

The court said it was responding to corruption claims against Begoña Gómez.

Mr Sánchez said he would make a decision on his future next Monday.

Great quote though clearly he's never had to figure out the financial aspects of visiting a strip club.

Unpopular to who? You? Biden's job is to work towards helping the country and the people, which he has done, not act like a carnival barker at endless rallies and tweet nonsense at 0-dark-thirty.

Just within the Parties. Biden is doing much better in the primaries than The Former Guy.
Now if the media would just report more about Biden's many accomplishments and not constant babbling about his age, maybe he would poll better.

Says aggregate polls. Biden is currently less popular than trump was.
