Technically, there isn't much overlap with one brood is mainly in Northern Illinois, and the other is mainly in the South, but it means your odds of encountering them are higher.

I rather like the song of the cicadas in a full blast of summer heat. Here in the South of France we don’t see them, we just hear them: they are a part of the summer set.
