The Macron/Attal government named the former minister of justice from the Sarkozy (!!) government, Rachida Dati, to the somewhat less influential post of minister of culture.



From what I understand, that required her to leave Sarkozy's Republican Party.

Seems like a strange move considering she’s under investigation for doing consulting work for Renault while in parliament. I’d think Macron would have nothing to do with her. Were they allies at some earlier time? I haven’t found any evidence they were.

She was in the Sarkozy (Republican) government, he was in the Hollande (Socialist) government. I guess they moved towards the center from opposite ends of the spectrum.

I also saw that some people are speculating that the Alaska Airlines plane that had trouble was somehow the fault of DEI hires that did..something and something?

Like, what are these lame theories? I can see how the right-wing talking heads are trying to take attention away from "corporate malfeasance" (some of these guys are literally paid to do this and I mentioned this when Signature Bank collapsed and some outlets ran some ridiculous op-eds) but the Taylor Swift one is so lame and weird that the guys repeating that stuff should be ashamed to say it. People who make up these crazy ideas do it as a way to empower themselves with their own circle of fools. Once they do, and their circle buys into it, it spreads like wildfire across social media and where ever the dark trolls live.
