I'm not sure why Threshold. Maybe it was supposed to mean it was on the edges of space? The Hunted was an intergalactic game show where a person is hunted on the planet Tolerance which is in the territory of the cosmic threat Lady Styx. The hunted in this case is a former Green Lantern named Jediah Caul whos drained ring is embedded in his chest. It featured a bunch of cosmic characters like Stealth from L.E.G.I.O.N. and Brainiac and reintroduced a bunch of older characters back into the DCU. Golden Age Characters like Star Hawkins, the Star Rovers, Rick Starr (Space Ranger), and Tommy Tomorrow reimagined for today. It also brought back a New God character nemd Lonar. It even created a mani universe version of Captain Carrot named Captain K'Rot a cyborg smuggler. If you like DC cosmic especially stuff outside the usuall Green Lantern stuff this short series was great. It spun out of Green Lantern Annual 1 and then the series itself ran 8 issues. and there was a trade that collected it all.

Steve Gerber’s Hard Time was really good, think first volume ran to 12 issues, second 7. Might have been published by an imprint of DC, rather than DC itself?

I don’t know about the best series but I wish a bunch of The New Age of Heroes series had longer lives. The Silencer, Sideways, The Curse of Brimstone.

CHASE immediately came to mind -- not only for the great J.H. Willaims artwork, but the stories and concepts by D.C. Johnson were awesome as well. Wish TPTB had given this a full 2 years before pulling the plug!

Agreed. Kind of amazing that none of the characters in that book have ever showed up anywhere, as far as I can recall.
