For context, there's nothing inherently wrong with making the main character of a book the POV side-character for an arc, but the problem through this run is its felt like Peter has been running in place on a hamster wheel. And we're 40+ issues deep now. And for what its worth, I like what Wells is actually doing with Tombstone. If this was main driving force of the run, not the Mary Jane drama or Ben Reilly getting thrown under the bus I think it'd be better receive. People would still complain yeah, but that happens in every run.
