I think both cases are unlikely, but some fans have some weird preferences, so who knows?
I love Claremazons too, but I don't associate them with height.
I like when the artists pay attention to the characters height because I think it's fun when they don't have that standard height depiction. But that is independent of a character being tall or short. Which is why I mentioned Frenzy on a previous post.
At the same time, I understand representing accurate height is a pain for the artist, so I never give them a hard time. I get why they focus on getting characters like the Kingpin and Puck right and they go with that general "rule" of making most female character's eyes be at the level of the male character's lips.
Wait, why Paris have a death penalty ? Thé Death Penalty IS abolish in France since a long Time ago.
Can we start passing around that Jean got taller as a community? Because I find it hilarious the head-canon that Jean either telekinetically forced her body grow almost an entire foot, had such ideas of being taller that the Phoenix made her dream body as a taller, or that she secretly had the Five quietly pull a Quentin and increased her height.

It's a bit like her not remembering the most memorable things (like she could fly since she was a teenager) when she's supposed to have a perfect memory? :D
I just laugh about it.
In my opinion there are much more important stuff to care about when it comes to inconsistency. :)
Like I said in the post you quoted, it's just a curiosity. :)
We know Scott is referring to her.
guys, the secret is called HIGH HEELS!
Jean's costume clearly is often depicted with heels.

Scott wearing his visor,... hmm, I thought they sewed his eyes closed last time we looked?

I love seeing these two banter again. But yeah, at some point I want to see the classic trio. Kurt’s supposed to be in the issue, the opportunities right there!
The fastball special being a circuit is a bit of a stretch, and throwing a human into a wall or at another mutant to dice up, is not a circuit. As fun as the conversation is, that move doesn’t need a special name.
Yeah….I’m not sure I like that.

Scott is 100% talking about Jean. He describes her as tall, and she's drawn tall, because he's 6'3". Visually, if they are the mutant power couple and are meant to inspire awe, artists are going to draw her almost as tall as him. It would look "off" if she he was over 6' and she was 5'6" at the tallest. She also has been drawn taller than Wolverine to display his "sway" over her.
On another note: I love Cockrum's art and the Phoenix costume is her best.
