Default Could Batman work as a TV show?

Considering how well Arrow is doing and the rise of new DC TV shows...

We could, but, instead we're getting Batman without Batman.

BATMAN is way too popular to be done on the shoestring budget that ARROW has.

BATMAN would have to find a home at AMC, HBO, or SHOWTIME.

Don't get me wrong, I love Batman just like everyone else, but I'm getting a little weary of Batman. Not only is half the current comic output of DC dedicated to the Bat-clones, he's been the only truly successful superhero in film for DC. I understand the economic imperative to capitalize on your greatest assets, but I at least appreciate the attempt to diversify and develop other properties, like Green Arrow. (It's also in part what makes me optimistic, perhaps even enthusiastic, about Fox's Gotham. The rest has to do with casting Ben McKenzie and Donal Logue in key roles.)

In any case, I'd rather see OTHER DC superheroes on the small screen before Batman.

There were things I loved about smallville. But I felt it had more faults than good. Michael Rosenbaum's acting couldn't make up for the stupid native american and witch sub plots.

Oh, Smallville. I was only ever able to sit through the first season...with a friend...and a hefty dose of irony. I know it has its fans, and perhaps the show improved, but I just couldn't invest in it.

I'd rather see a second- or third-tier hero get developed, like Blue Beetle, Zatanna, Deadman, or even Jack Knight as Starman. I could even get into a villain-centric series.

I would love to see a blue beetle series. Maybe with two of the three beetles as the leads. Jaime in the current times with flash backs to either of the other beetles. Either ted kord or the other guy.

Arrow basically is Batman. He sure isn't Ollie.
