It's not the most well-executed transition in the world, because I have no idea why this led to the JLA taking a break apart from DC not knowing what to do with them - but it's "Dark Crisis (On Infinite Earths)".

I think that worked at the time it was done, though Nightwing: Year One was a lot more involved.

But it didn't really add anything new or interesting.

If you appear in one arc, suddenly that means you're a big part of this book again I guess .

I mean, posters have been complaining about cop characters from Dixon's run that I have absolutely no recollection of, so yeah, relevant certainly is relative lol

He got to interact with different heroes after separating from Bruce and getting their own insight into his development, we got more Post-Crisis interaction between him, Jason, and Babs at this point in their careers.

Amy and Svoboda would be better than bringing characters from Metropolis, even if they were just to appear little and do practically nothing. But I doubt Taylor knows the characters, I don't think he even knew that Sonia existed before creating Melinda.
