I really wanted to like this series but I couldn't stand the art

With the unique exception of Bendis' USM (Marquez' art + Ponsor's colors were the absolute BEST!), the remaining Ultimate books suffered from mediocre (New Ultimates) to absolutely insulting (Ultimate FF) art
Dont believe my opinion on the Ultimate FF art? I would tell you to pick it up and see for yourselves, but I wouldnt wish that even on my worst enemies.. THAT'S how bad it is

Too true! I loved the concepts of both New Ultimates and Ultimate FF. I remember the stories were good but the art was hard to take. Marquez should have done the interiors. This cover is everything!

Because he's dead and has been for a long time. All of the superheroes died during the great cataclysm that signaled the end of the Heroic Age. Also, he would have perished at the same age he is in the current comics so its doubtful he had any descendants to carry on his legacy.
