But Jon last book wasn’t canceled it ended. It didn’t do spectacular but held pretty well. Much better then Power girl or Superboys solos or anything else from the superfamily that isn’t Clark. Jon been a consistent feature of all the last major DC events . Lazarus Planet Dark Dark Crisis Beast War and I see pieces for him in Absolute power. I
It’s not like he’s in danger of being shelved, floating redundantly or being ignored . He out here.
DC isnt going to have a book end just to end. If its selling good...its going to continue. Wonder Girl didnt just "end", it was canceled.

Dorinda isnt paused from RHONY. She's fired.

I'm reminded one of the covers for Adventures of Superman was retrofitted from an originally planned Son of Kal-El issue 19 or 20, something past issue 18.

Which confirms the book was suddenly cancelled.

Yara wonder girl is another strangle example it wasnt just selling good it was selling really well the first couple of issues.
better then diana. However writing and drawing was defintly too much for joelle jones, among some other behind the scene issues
there was actually more reason to keep that going then not just with a different team. But things dont always work out.

But again why are we comparing this to a mini series? Did you see all the work williamson had to do to get an extension

The adventure of superman Jon kent was just given 6 issues. Its super rare mini to get extension in DC

There is a line for when a book is being totally rejected we saw it just recently with Tim drakes Robin, Jon Kent aint there

everything depends on the plans for the character. I thought it was weird Damians 2021 robin just ended after 17 issues, but he went from mini series to event to event and here he is again in a new ongoing. Jon is not like yara his character has not been given up on, and likely never will since he is the son of superman.

I never said he's been given up on. I said that DC failed him. He could be much bigger than he is and have his own successful ongoing.

Could also be a case depending on changing the direction of the character into something different.

Adventures of Superman ended August last year which was 9 months ago.

So if they do have something planned for Jon, they are certainly taking a hell of a long time with it.

Insert any and nearly every other DC character and that sentence is correct

The right opportunity hasnt come along for him yet. But accumulating roles in big stories as he has been doing will only benefit him in the future

Is there a rush? Id be more concerned if he was becoming a silent background cameo, but since he stays present In DC as a whole its fine. There are too many chracter being shafted and actually lost for me to see jon as failed.

Yes there's a rush, he's not doing anything. And don't try to play occasionally contributing in events as something substantial cause its not. Its like how poc and queer characters only ever appear in the Power and Pride specials, its not really much.

Yara Flor recently starred in Amazons Attack, see that is a major role in something. Jon being reduced to guest star fodder isn't it.

Having a starring role in one of DC's worst selling books is better than having guest roles in event comics that are typically DC's best selling books?

    Depends on the role.

He was pretty prominent in Dark Crisis and Beast World. Couldn't open an issue in most of them without seeing him in it. Jury is still out on whatever this Waller thing will be, but considering lady Braniac is the Superman villain and he hasn't been in the Superman issues leading up to it thus far, I doubt he'll have a large spot (if any) in that one.

And he is every month in Wonder Woman written by Tom King, at least from issue 3 until issue 6, recently collected in the trinity special which, by the way, included another new adventure featuring Jon, Damian and Trinity. Does anybody here read those comics? Because he is given a very prominent role, even if it's in the second story. And he was also featured for several months in the second story in Nighwing's series, issues 101 to 104.

But it’s not occasion it’s consistent. The Wonder Woman branch finally making use of its family of characters is the new twist in DC. I’m glad for it, wish Donna could have appeared. Then Amazon attack was just another mini apart of the dawn of DC line and now it’s over just like Jon’s mini is.
We don’t know what next for them because we don’t know where the DC shift is going until the absolute power event begins.

Also Fodder??? Be ffr please. fodder doesn’t get moments like this.

The writers and staff clearly love him. The boy is here to stay. Pink haired boyfriend and all.

The recent suicide squad mini With Waller is setting up the pieces. His boyfriend Jay’s mom was just kidnapped by Waller. Also Dreamer is one of his closest friends. He will be appearing in main line DC again soon like the starring player he is .
