I mean I can see their idea behind these abilities but I agree that encouraging certain heroes to be teamed up is limiting player choice. Because if you don't you simply have an ability less. That wouldn't be dramatic if the ability itself isn't that impactful but then why even have it in the first place?
But the game is still in the Alpha phase so changes can be made.



If I recall right Magneto is classified as a tank so he will be a frontliner.

It's compounded by the fact that people get locked in like in OW, so if someone picks a certain character then it just makes better sense to pick who synergizes. Hopefully changes can be made. I don't want to be forced to play Hulk for instance if Iron Man gets locked in. Or have a situation where I pick Wanda but no one picks Mags. It's just too dependent. It forces friends to play certain characters and depends too much on randos to pick certain characters.

I think we should wait to see how the game works out first though before wanting to make drastic changes. Don't know if it's really true but apparently in testing Wanda was one of the best performing DPS heroes. If a character is already objectively good then a situational ability won't be changing much about that. The game invites that are being sent out are for NA only for the moment though so I can't do any testing of my own.

Luckily there's apparently no nda for the alpha so we'll be hearing a lot of responses to the game after people playtest it.

Don't worry. I won't be leaving feedback until I see Alpha. It's just something for now that I'm not really on board with.
