Wow, they really were able to get a Doom book out of Hickman.

I am feeling very excited about the Fantastic 4 film and whats to come...a lot of people saying that Doom taking Kang's place is him being rushed etc...I don't see that...there are plenty of projects where Doom can have a moment here, a moment there to get who he is across...all of this leading to Secret Wars...or possibly even Avengers 5 since they have dropped the Kang Dynasty subtitle and maybe that movie is a Doom centric film...who knows? That said, if SW is meant to reset the universe and realign it to have the F4 and X-Men be part of the 616 universe, regardless if Doom is God Emperor big mega threat, say he is defeated, well if the universe resets, he could easily be ruler of Latveria in this new status quo going forward....I am just saying we could have a LOT of Doom moments to come...

Even though the bulk of the plot seems to come from the artist, while Hickman does the script (unless I misunderstood).

Hickman : "Sanford and I have been waiting to work together for quite a while, so when he told me that he’d come up with an amazing Doom story and he wanted me to help out, I jumped at the chance”

I met Jim Chueng one year at the Comicon held in Chicago. I was able to get buy a page from the Children's Crusade from his regular inker Mark Morales and Jim signed it on the bottom.



You can see the signatures at the bottom of the page. Jim Cheung's on the left corner and it is very small.

Found an old appearance of Dr Doom that I didn't have before. Occurred in the all-ages title, Marvel Adventures: Hulk, #11 from 2008. Bruce Banner is at the Baxter Building with the Thing when some Doombots attack.

Then Doom himself breaches the building, but he didn't know that the Hulk was also there. There's a funny big of dialogue when Doom acknowledges that he was using some Stark tech for intel.

Anyway, with the absence of any Doom appearances lately, I've more time to search for hidden nuggets like these.

Also not so much as a new appearance but a new cover ... a pretty cool one actually. This is the original Secret Wars #1 comic book from 1984, with a variant cover

They call it a Facsimile Edition, and the indica has a release date of March 2024. I think this was only available at Megacon Orlando which was just last month, but maybe it will be available elsewhere.

Haven't had much news lately but I did find a new Doom portrait by Alex Maleev. Maybe someday soon will here something about a movie appearance. And then there's the new Doom series in May.
