I think than Alpha Centurion was among the "rivals" cathegory than the "enemies". You know, those guy who mostly compete with Superman more than try to defeat him with some nefarious intention. Characters like Vartox, Regor, Ultraa, (ASS) Atlas & Samson, Astounding Man and so many others alien superheroes or time travellers and adventurers who challenged Superman for some petty or strange reason.
