Now that he is married to Rogue, Remy kind of reminds me of Nathan Drake from Uncharted though Gambit is way smoother and doesn't seem to curse nearly as much.

For me Spike felt like Gambit who never joined X-Men so didn`t find his redemption.
He lost his love of life Bella, run away from Guilds, lived with mercenaries for hire. He was fun but competent and and never was afraid to watch into death face without fear and defeat enemies with bang you are dead.

Spike had almost everything about Gambit that I'm convinced Joss Whedon based a few details of Spike on Gambit with him being a big comic book guy. Granted Spike is a villain but he had that swagger that I think Gambit needs
