I do like the combination of elements from both WW and SM costumes of these 2 designs.

They reminds me something recent from the comics I was supposed to post but I forgot because being stuck with the V-day art for a full month.

So this wasn’t the red flag as initially thought. The “deep dive” wasn’t at all it though like King said. It was very much a puddle step as well as trying to tie Clark/Diana’s dynamic into the not so grand scheme of the Trinity concept. That is quite unfair because Clark/Bruce dynamic isn’t based on the trinity, just solely the World’s Finest and that’s respected as such. Understood that the background was finding a gift for Batman but it was still heavy handed on the Trinity. Also, if Tom King did a “deep dive” Diana would’ve called him “Kal” at least once.

It was cute moments like The hug, Diana calling him “my Clark”, the sentimental moments of these two pages above, especially with Clark acknowledging the government is wrong and he would fight by Diana’s side but it still felt distant and contrived because the plot requires him not to actually get involved.
Also, Clark’s “American way” reference was a bit on the nose.

Overall, it was okay. Not the best, kinda pointless, had its moments but could’ve been better if Tom King actually did the “deep dive” he claimed.

The full circle moment here from War World.
It’s too bad this verse suffered from budget slashings and having to do so much off screen.
But at least Earth 2 Kal and Diana’s relationship was subtly hinted from the beginning in the JSA film and getting somewhat of a pay off. Didn't expect a full on romantic relationship LOL a pleasant and welcomed surprise. Would’ve loved to see how it developed over time especially that Diana was the one who inspired him to be the Superman he should be and them being co-leads of the team.

Over the last years, they are slowly acknowledging again their partnership. Baby steps, I know.
