Can't wait for this Dominion story to come to a head. Seems like Jean is going to have to become or be a pivotal part of the most powerful version of the Phoenix yet.

There’s a Land variant too but nah
Its quite obvious that whether that costume looks good or not will be HIGHLY dependent on the artist
I quite like the new costume, adds some drama and a cosmic flair!
This one is breathtaking. The new suit looks FABULOUS here:
“…with renewed purpose, Jean embraces what was always hers: the breathtaking power of the Phoenix Force.” Marvel and Brevoort have really set out to end us all in the best possible way. 😭

Jean Grey in the words of Walt Whitman, from his masterpiece Leaves of Grass, "Song of Myself" (51 and 52):
"Do I contradict myself? Very well then I contradict myself, (I am large, I contain multitudes.)"
"Failing to fetch me at first keep encouraged, Missing me one place search another, I stop somewhere waiting for you."
Feels like a Shi’ar influence in this costume, some design elements remind me of Polaris’ 80s look
There's such a stark contrast between Jean in the original TAS, and 97. It's lovely to see Jean actually feel more similar to her comic counter part. Can't wait to see what the rest of this season has in store for Jean, and what all she'll do.
I think the new Phoenix costume looks great. You can't beat the original, but this a sold adaptation IMO.
I have to say: The new Phoenix suit works for me, but it's certainly not as artist-friendly (neither is Dauterman's suit, tbh) as the original. However, I like the new version's haute couture vibes. There's a regal and avant-garde yet sophisticated quality to it that I think will really shine under adept hands. (The version I posted above is ~chef's kiss~). And frankly, it isn't as gaudy as her Revolutions suit, which I also love. On another note, I think the new suit is meant to symbolize Jean's clinging to a bit of her mortality, hence the headpiece and other design elements that echo some of her previous looks. I wouldn't be surprised if we see her shed it as her story progresses. All-in-all, I'm finding everything about her upcoming era and developments thrilling.

The Power Rangers chest plate really ruins the look. It would be more palatable without such an ugly element attatched to it
