I consider the distinction significant, especially since characters like Xavier, Logan, Rachel, Emma, Sinister, and even Jean are distinguished from their codenames and variations in this list (e.g., Young Xavier, White Queen, Weapon X, James Howlett, Rachel Grey, Prestige, Marvel Girl, Dark Phoenix, etc.). It illustrates how intrinsic to one another Jean and Phoenix are considered.

I agree about the prophetic vibes. I feel confident in asserting that she's is going to play a central, if not the central role, in the climax to Fall of X. Of course, I also remember what Gillen recently said, which is why I'm not bothered by her in a metaphysically liminal space (I love it, actually)...

Yes, i concur. They usually just call Jean "Jean Grey", but here they attach "Phoenix" and thus, may be allowing Phoenix powers for Jean in the game!

Scott and Jean are so far quite literally benched...lol

Jean is name-dropped so many timed throughout the first issue, I cannot believe she won't return before the series ends. But maybe her storyline will come to be of importance only in X-Men: Forever. We would have to wait a little longer for her to return then.
