Good old OHTMU! Amongst the few dozen comics I ever actually had as a kid were two issues of that(or something similar.) Learned a lot about the characters I liked that way.

This makes me wonder how much influence do Dani and Rhane have over each other's personalities.

Can't remember what book this was from. I think it was one Claremont did maybe?

I think the level of influence just depends on the writer. I believe it never come up once when Peter David wrote her despite all the crap she went through in his books.

Dani didn't have her powers at that point, unless I'm mixing up the timeline. Which happens.

I think that's Bill Sienkiewicz art? But I don't remember the comic, at all.

X-MEN UNLIMITED #43 by Claremont/Sienkiewicz (Rough art but I appreciate that Sienkiewicz has Dani's feather properly worn pointed UP. Dani has seen plenty of battles...

Nice to see that animal telepathy aspect of Moonstar's psi powers remembered in UNLIMITED.
I wish they had Dani complete the reveal by projecting the image of the barrier herself - manifesting mental images is her stock and trade, after all...

Sometimes the smaller, more nuanced usages can be fun. Using Dani's connection to the bird to map out the barrier for everyone was dope.

I actually came along some rather tasteful femslash art in a search. I know readers think there is homosexual undertones between the Dani and Rahne. So, I'm not surprised.

I don't recall anything specifically making me think Dani and Rahne were into each other in anything I read but with fiction it seems any kind of friendship can be considered a heartbeat away from a romantic parring. I'm not judging. I do like romance. It's shipping that I can't quite seem to understand. As long as it's well written, I honestly don't much care who ends up with who.

They were a couple in the movie for that reason and have long been queercoded the way Storm/Yukio and Kitty/Illyana were.

When did the revised version come out? I don't remember it at all.

I've been working on a Dani amigurumi, again. I'm going for a simple, funko pop-style this time. Here's the prototype. Obviously, not the right colours, and I've made a few changes to the final version. I used markers to make the eyes. I wasn’t about to waste safety eyes on a test version.

Good point. Seems like human allies often end up as causalities that need to be "cashed in" by offing them too.
