I think Priest was a better GL writer than he's remembered for - partly because I think editorial kept screwing up his plans (which apparently didn't change with the novel) and for me personally, I think MD Bright was a pretty mid artist, and he drew a lot of GL during that time period.

My hope is that Carol will pick up the ring again as Star Sapphire to help prevent their battery from blowing up - which she and Hal will be able to accomplish together. But I doubt that's what Adams has in mind
