- Once again, so what if one of the UP Corpsmen made a red axe instead of a green one? I'm still waiting for this "they can change colors" thing to actually mean something significant or feel impressive. - Thaaros is still boring to me. Was he more impressive in "Action Comics?"

During Soule's Red Lantern run I was disappointed that the book basically turned into Extreme Green Lanterns instead of focusing on more unique aspects of Red Lanterns. Fascinating that years later they found a way to make it even less distinct. Remember when Red Lanterns didn't create any constructs at all and were just vomiting napalm blood? Good days.

As for Thaaros, no, he was not impressive. Felt more like a scheming and cowardly politician who eventually gets killed by another bad guy to show how stupid/pathetic he was. I hope he doesn't end up being big bad of this run.

Since the storyline now includes a bunch of other earth Lanterns, I don't foresee a Big Bad in terms of someone to fight. I imagine we'll get a bunch of group fight scenes versus the UP Corpsmen and Lantern Hunters so everyone can feel important and Hal delivering the final blow since this is his title. Of course there are many other ways to go, but so far I don't have the biggest faith in Adams to do something truly outstanding or inventive.

I think I remember seeing it in a Silver Age trade cover but this makes me want to see him get a full blown GL run .

Hal appeared briefly in World's Finest #26. I just wanted to point out the slight variation in his costume... looking like Darwyn Cooke's design, which I love! (Black shoulders, green extends to look more like trunks than briefs)

Also, Coast City try not to get wrecked challenge (impossible)

Aside from the New Frontier animated movie, has the sleeveless look ever been adapted in outside media before? I wouldn't mind seeing it in Gunn's DCU but more similar to the current look without the green going below his waist.

I'd actually really love to see the DCU costumes, at least Hal's, look like spacesuits; the green extending passed the waist would work with such an aesthetic.
