Really wondering where they are going with this in the long run. We have several Phoenix-powered X-Men atm sending teams through time and space.

Who are the other teams? Right now Dead X-Men are the only team that is doing this that affects the current line and the final Krakoa arc. Original X-Men /Weapon X-Men have nothing to do with what's happening on Earth. And we're at a pause with the Jean/the Phoenix/Immortal X-Men story.

I know it's not the direction the writers thought to take this story but I almost wish she was more involved directly in the fight against OS and Nimrod considering her involvement with varying timelines.

Rachel is referred to as Mother Askani in Rise #2 and not just Askani.

I agree. Rachel was Nimrod's OG target and she had a history with trying to save Karima. Technically she had the ability to remove the AU OS that had taken her over. Would have been nice to see her on the attack more but she's involved for a change instead of being ignored. So I'll take it.

I cant beleive Gillen is using Rachel and making her relevant. I dont think she's ever been utilized in a major X-men capacity as she is right now
