I really want Rachel to rock this costume again for the book with Betsy. That one of her classic red with spikes look from Excalibur. None of her other costumes have worked for me.

Actually as they seem to go full nostalgia with a twist on the costumes for the new era, I really wonder which look they'll emuilate for Rachel in her upcoming unannounced book !
I think her most identifiable look is the spiked leather bodysuit ?
I still always picture her using some variation of her Marvel Girl look, but only because that was her look when I first saw her (Claremont's X.S.E. era).
I'm not sure if the red look is her most iconic, if only because It hasn't been used regularly since the 80s.
I guess that leaves space for them to create something truly iconic as her new standard. I don't love Bachalo's Magik, but the black look has undeniably become her go-to look because her previous ones weren't as memorable.
The Phoenix Trinity. Mother, Daughter, and Granddaughter!
All three said and/or shown to be connected to the Phoenix from conception or birth.
This story is about Jean accepting being Phoenix again, but Rachel and Hope’s history and connection with the Phoenix is also being acknowledged and respected. Hope synced with Jean and used some Phoenix Fire to fight a representation of Apocalypse in the WHR in the Jean Grey solo and in Immortal. She might get another moment coming up.
Rachel is being used to shutter the dead X-men from the WHR to other timelines. They’ve acknowledged that with Jean out of action, Rachel makes the most sense for a mission to resurrect the Phoenix. She also has some Phoenix Fire from the multiverse. Rachel may get another good moment coming up soon.
I do think this variant cover is more indicative of the current story than foreshadowing the Phoenix book though.
I still cheerlead for a blended look that combines glossy red fetish look, "turkey" trench coat, and tall boot heels and short skirt.
To quote the classic Cake diddy "I want girl with a short skirt and a loooooooooog jacket"
The tune is actually a decent theme for the Women of X since the lyrics can refer to several of the stand out ladies (Emma...Kitty...Laura...)
