I wouldn’t be at all surprised if that was the intention. And I’ve seen that someone in the fandom has done an edited, nude version of this panel.

I’m also pretty sure Kurt was meant to be naked with only the BAMF! doll to preserve his modesty. Suspect editorial fainted and it got redrawn.

I was only nine in ‘72 when the Reynolds issue came out, but had several of Cosmo’s ‘art’ centrefolds when I was in my teens.

Lol, I remember in Nightcrawlers Cockrum series Kitty mentioning that Illyana was reading Playgirl mags. I wonder how that got through editorial.

This issue of the X-Men was one of the first I read as a young lad. It made me both an X-Men fan and cemented my love for the ol' Fuzzy Elf.

More. I remember Kurt being so merciless because they kidnapped Douglock that he gave them very little minutes to evacuate before their base went kaboom. Kurt says "Send that place to the devil." if I remember correctly. This also makes me miss the old moira.
