I know Lobdell gets a lot of flack for making Excalibur the X-men B-team, but I kinda liked those issues. I still have to reread that part of the run on Unlimited.

There’s such joy in Alan’s Kurt. Joy in the grace of his movements, joy in his personality, joy in his interactions with those around him.
He has an understanding of how an acrobat moves, even when Kurt’s not fighting or performing, when he’s just sitting or standing or even just in the background.

Agreed, Alan draws movement like nobody else. So much of Kurt’s personality and his fighting style is portrayed by his body language. Especially in contrast to other male team mates like Brain. You can so easily distinguish them as people just from the way Alan shows who they are through their physicality.

Agreed, Alan draws movement like nobody else. So much of Kurt’s personality and his fighting style is portrayed by his body language. Especially in contrast to other male team mates like Brain. You can so easily distinguish them as people just from the way Alan shows who they are through their physicality.

Interesting question, the swords abilities haven’t been explored that much. I’m leaning to the side of no. While the hope-sword is apparently made from one of the strongest magics, mysterium is anti-magic that can negate magical abilities.

Yeah, that's what I concluded as well since Kurt's Hopesword is akin to Illyana's Soulsword, Megan's Souldagger, and arguably Madelyne Pryor's Scythe of Sorrows... But, the Hopesword can do one thing that the former three can't I believe... It can rid a person of the Techno-Organic Virus.
