I would love this look back:
And if we need a bomber jacket, the green one from Silvestri would work.
I loved how she switched it up with the exact ensemble during when she was wearing the crop top/bodysuit costume. I don't recall Rogue actually wearing that outfit with cowboy boots during the actual period. It seems to be something that is retconned in for new flashbacks. I recall thinking during the time when she transitioned to the Jim Lee outfit in X-MEN #1 that it was Rogue's first foray into wearing a traditional superhero outfit. She went from her villainous look to more casual tunics/punk leading up to then...
I'll hold out hope for her Hellfire gala sheer underboob bombshell look to make the leap to everyday heroics.

Im Gonna miss those Galas...
Also the First Gala look is delicious. and the Third the Dolly Parton Rogue.
But the second one is meh
I would love her 1st Gala look as an in-the-field costume. However I would give her more boob coverage...make it a fitted crop top falling just under the girls so that when she's flying with arms outstretched she's not flashing all and sundry below. I'd also give her knee-high boots similar to her Silvestri look.
Lord Ewing *Praise His name! Uplift Him in song!* Your divine works will be remembered and glorified in worship for all eternity. Amen!
While what you're saying makes total sense, I'd be lying if I said i didn't like the underboobs peeking out.
I think this outfit would be much better if she lost those glasses, and the huge collar (it looks like she's wearing one of those dog cones).
Instead of the collar and sleeves, just a black tank top over the green would be enough.
As a Gala green carpet look I love everything about it. The underboobs, the exaggerated collar, the lace, the accessories. I get what Dauterman was going for...referencing elements from personal style and making it modern. I just wish someone had the cojones to edit it for a current costume as they did for Jean, instead of dumping her back into the 90's.

I'll always love her 90s outfit. She was wearing that when i became a fan of the character.
And it's so recognizable, I like the idea of a consistent look so everyone will always know who she is.
My biggest problem with the hooded uniforms is that when she has the hood up, it's hard to tell who she is at times.
