I would love an increased profile for Monet going forward. She needs to pull a Magik and permanently graduate to the big leagues, she's too interesting a character to be used so sparingly.

Totally agree, but it seems Marvel has been moving in that direction the last couple of years. It doesn't get much bigger than being on a team with Captain America.

It seems each "next gen" team has had 3 members ascend (some faster than others).
New Mutants: Illyana, Beto and Doug (formerly Sam)
Generation X: Monet, Synch and Jubilee
Academy etc: Quire, Prodigy and Dust

Honestly wouldn't be mad at these 9 becoming a team.

Monet is great. I can't believe Hickman saddled her with that stupid Penance form again and didn't even bother to tell a story about why. And Duggan seemed to have forgotten she's actually a powerhouse and had her get beaten up by Stevil.

I would love to see Monet ditch the Penance form(the twins too, let Hollow be a thing if they like that character design so much), and simply be nigh invulnerable, class 50-70 strength, bullet-time speedster, and most importantly, GENIUS high level telepath. I can ditch the TK, that never worked for me either. She might not have the absolute raw psionic power of a Jean or Quinten, but she's much more intelligent(at least compared to Jean, I know Quinten is supposed to be supersmart too). I would put her at Emma's level(which she seemingly exceeded in raw power back in the Gen X days). I know some of that could have been attributed to the twins, especially the autistic one, but I don't care. At her baseline she can come across as a Rogue-like character(flying brick), but we can make her special by leaning into her sophistication and intelligence.

What do we all think of the Monet/Pietro pairing?

Personally, I don't mind them as snarky friends who occasionally sleep with each other, but I'm not really into the idea of it being anything deeper than that.

I would love to see her and Sunspot on a team together, I think they would have a fun dynamic, as friends or potentially more.

I was amused by the Pietro/Monet pairing, and I can even understand the logic, but Duggan really didn't do anything to actually make it make sense in the narrative, so I'd be fine with that being swept under the rug as a fling.

As for Roberto/Sunspot, yes, I see the potential there too! I would love to see an Everett/Monet/Roberto triangle or even thrupple. Put them on a team together and let's see what happens!
