I really love Schiti’s design work, his SWORD costumes were the best of this era, so I would choose him. As for writer, maybe Leah Williams if she were interested. It would probably never happen but I think James Tynion could write them really well.

Happy New Year to the most misused team in the X-Men mythos and their unstoppable fans. They deserve better than they've gotten. May 2024 be the year we get that!

They definitely deserved an arc or mini series in the Krakoa era and I still don't get why JDW didn't ask for a pitch I'm pretty sure Hickman wanted to highlight each generation

Plus there's no reason why other senior X-Men or New Mutants or 'others' might not have had squads. Did Bishop or Banshee or Angel or Forge or Magik or Colossus or Madison Jeffries (all those mutant teens introduced in Alpha Flight's series!) have squads? And would Bishops squad been forced to march around, because he's a hardass mutant cop, and include some mutant kids he has beef with and wants to 'toughen up' (i.e. make miserable) like Gloom and Tantra, who messed with him (and Sage) back in the Extreme days?

Who taught what classes? Cyclops teaching a class on tactics or leadership? Angel and / or Northstar teaching flight class, and probably all sorts of aerial techniques? Magik and Forge teaching stuff about magic? Beast about science. Colossus about art. Wolverine about history. "Nah, I met Churchill. He was nothing like that." Were there chaplains? Nightcrawler for Christians, particularly Catholics, Monet for Moslems, Forge or Dani for Native faiths, Kitty for Jewish students, etc. but who would cover Buddists like maybe Hong / Eosimias, or Hindu like Indra or Visionary?

There was ridiculous potential for that era.

My biggest hope for these characters is that they’re not regressed back into students if/ when the mansion comes back. Even if they’re in limbo I’d rather be told that they’re living their best lives out in the world (or shoot on Mars) then have them go back being wallpaper students.

I'm okay with them being back in high school (as distasteful as that would be since they are at least X-23's age now) if there is a book that focuses on the students. I wasn't a fan of Krakoa in general, but I especially disliked how there wasn't an Akademos Habitat book with all the X-Kids from all the eras. To me, X-Men will always be about a school and teenage metahumans coming of age. That's what seperated it from Avengers and JLA.
I'm not totally useless. I can always be used as a bad example...

The RIOT AT XAVIERS students definitely deserve a spot, if not here, then somewhere...I was going to try for a GENERATIONS OF X Appreciation thread as a catch all for the Generation X kids and beyond since they seem to all kind of blend into a lump generation of students at Xaviers after the New Mutants.

I'm not a fan of the Omega gang, or of Beak and Angel Salvadore, or Xorn's 'special class,' but I was intrigued by a ton of the background characters like Polymer, Contact, Mentat, Keratin, Stalwart, etc. and there were a ton named that I don't recall even finding out anything about, like Imp, Pako, Crater, etc.

To think OG Quire was actually an interesting character. He never should have been used in the way he has been since Schism. Jason Aaron turned him into someone else entirely and Ben Percy did even less research.

That OG QQ art makes him so unlikable. I can see why they spent so much time fixing him. He looks like he went to H****r School.
