    Default STEVE TREVOR Appreciation 2024

    IMG_0919.jpg

One of my fave Trevor moments since King took over. LOL

Hope the future is bright for you, Steve!

Love me some Steve Trevor. Hopefully he isnt put on the backburner again....though I miss his Argus days where he had more power instead of just being another soldier.

Steve Trevor is part of the mythos and should continue to have a presence. He doesn't have to be Diana's love interest, but I'm not opposed to it.

I love Wonder Woman being a queer icon, but for my money, Steve Trevor will always be Diana's main love interest, iconic romantic partner, and classic dude-in-distress who is gladly rescued/saved by her without ever feeling diminished or emasculated (although I wish DC had made something more substantial and lasting of the other Trevor [Barnes], who I think had so much potential).

There's this lovely moment in WW84 where Steve sees a space shuttle for the first time, and you can see the wonder in his eyes. I have no real strong preference about the job Steve should have, but there was something beautiful in characterising him as a pilot more than specifically a military man, someone who simply loves to fly, who wants to soar. I can see a Diana who'd be drawn to a man who retains that sense of playful wonder, because she has it too. I'd love to see more of that side of him!

I don’t remember this moment. Might be time for a rewatch. I do think this is an appealing way to characterize Trevor.

So far, King seems to be leaning into the military machismo. We’ll see how that develops…

Hmm, “Jason”…would that be the twin brother? I don’t recognize this panel. Must be from that long stretch of runs I ignored after Rucka’s Rebirth ended. Heh.
