Replaying a bit of 0 in Premium Adventure because I skipped out on some of the Kiryu substories on the first play around.

Particularly the Daigo one, because of how important the character is in the sequels.

In retrospect, kind of surprised they didn't include Yumi and Park in the story in some way but I guess they would have overshadowed or taken from the Makoto storyline which is already pretty long as is.

Wrapped up 5. Pretty long ending, you think it ends with the Kamurocho hills battle but then there's 2-3 hours left (with naturally the Millenium tower and the Tojo HQ kind of shoe-horned in) and I think Serena is pretty much the final save point before that as well.

I forgot to stock up on Stamina/Tauriner/Toughness for Kiryu of all the characters (Remembered everybody else) so had to tone down the difficulty on the final fight. Kind of funny how many twist endings this one had.

Heard that 6 takes things down a notch as far as length and characters.

Reportedly they're doing auditions for the next title, although they didn't say much about it except it's not Kiwami III, although Kiwami III might still be made at some point.

Why would anyone think they were making Kiwami 3? Or do you mean the third Ichiban game?

I would think they would do Kiwami versions of III-V eventually.

They specifically said they weren't going to.

Granted, that was when the remasters came out, but still.

Maybe it's because Toshihiro Nagoshi left.

Playing 6 now. Having played 0 and the Kiwami's first it's interesting to play the III-V remasters and then get back into the similar graphics, leveling up and gameplay (minus the other fighting styles) from those more recent games. Also helps that the save points aren't limited to phone booths and chapter breaks, the energy drinks aren't as needed (and kind of costly anyway) and the stores, restaurants, and minigames are labeled a bit better on the maps.

Also some stuff added to the continuity from 0 in some of the main story and substories, such as the cult (Which Majima dealt with in 0) and the conflict with the Triad.

Kind of interesting Majima is pretty much absent from 6. However, it seems understandable since the game came after 0 and between the two Kiwamis, which had plenty of him already.
