    Birds of Prey was when I became a fan of this character. Dinah and Babs were an amazing team.

    My two favorite eras of Black Canary are the Golden Age -- her solo stories were moody, interesting, and a bit progressive. Even though she was teamed with a love interest (future husband), she was the star of the series -- and very capable. My second favorite is the 70s through early 80s -- before Longbow Hunters did her dirty (sorry Mike Grell, but you should have left Dinah out of your Green Arrow stuff). Although she was tacked on to Oliver Queen as his love interest, she did gain her awesome canary cry and had some good to great moments in Brave & the Bold and JLA.

    The modern version changes too much for me, so I can't connect with the character as much.

    In the New 52 is the original Canary still her mother? New 52 boggled so many things for Dinah and I'm not even sure what's canon any more.
