AIPT - "Greg Capullo reveals he’s drawing ‘Wolverine’ in 2024"

Artist Greg Capullo has revealed via his Twitter today an interior page for an upcoming series he’s drawing, and it’s none other than Wolverine. He doesn’t say it’s Wolverine, nor does the hero show up on the interior page he shared, but you can see “Wolverine” written in the top left of the interior page. Given the jungle setting and a dinosaur foot on the page, it’s likely a scene in the Savage Land.

This isn’t Capullo’s first Marvel work since leaving DC Comics. Recently, Capullo has been supplying covers for Marvel Comics, but today, we know his first official Marvel interior work will be for Wolverine.

There’s no word yet on who will be writing Wolverine, although one could guess it’s Benjamin Percy continuing his run since he’s also continuing Ghost Rider in March with a new #1. It’s also worth noting there’s no word if he’s taking over as the ongoing artist or if this is simply a one-shot.

That said, it’s pretty clear this Capullo-drawn Wolverine series will be under the new era of X-Men, with editor Tom Brevoort taking over in July.

So, is it too much to hope Scott Snyder is coming to Marvel? Even if I don't care for his stuff that would be a big draw and sign that Brevoort and Marvel are serious about bringing talent.

Its arc by arc and I stopped. I will finish it once its all on Unlimited. It's strengthened by being during the Krakoa era and he has more control since he is also writing X-Force.

Yay! The worst-kept secret in comics... but I'm glad we got confirmation at last.

I disagree with AIPT's speculation that Benjamin Percy might stay on to relaunch Wolverine's book since he himself said he was leaving (and on AIPT itself if I recall correctly!) and only had another mini/one-shot before wrapping up his run. Unless this latter project is indeed the Capullo one, although IMO it would make more sense for Greg to relaunch the book as part of the From the Ashes era with a new writer for maximum impact.

I also wonder if Scott Synder could be writing this... he expressed interest in writing Wolverine before and he's been doing creator-owned work pretty much exclusively over the past several years, so he might have an itch to scratch with corporate comics at this stage. It would be one hell of a creative team for Logan.
