the new Punisher? Curious. Well, I guess if there is a "demand", he might come back. But I guess he's mainly set up to be a guest character here and there.

They showed Joe Garrison in one of the future teases for Timeless so they're likely going to do another mini. They give new characters minis a lot these days.

I also heard rumors this was originally going to be a "classic era" Punisher mini featuring Frank and Micro and the new Punisher was going to be a different character, but there was some behind-the-scenes reshuffling, but I have no idea if that's true or not.

Either way, I picked this up out of curiosity, not expecting much, and ended up being surprised at how good it was. It reminded me of the "Circle of Blood" era Punisher stuff, when Frank was a bit more human and sympathetic. Joe's got kind of a tortured, Jason Bourne type thing going on and I like him so far.

Not surprised this failed, though i doubt they will bring back Frank as we he once was given that god awful retcon that made him into a monster in command of the Hand and his wife was alive all along and what not.

Again, I think it was intended to run four issues for a good while, which is how Marvel does new characters a lot these days. Timeless teased something more with Garrison recently so I'm not sure it failed or that Frank is coming back.

Also, as someone whos been a fan of the character for over 30 years, Frank was always a monster. Garth Ennis understood that. Most of his writers did. Frank himself understands that. He's a guy that only feels alive when he's killing and fighting. Jason Aaron didn't invent that concept. It's so weird that people find this take so offensive when this is something so many writers, notably Ennis, emphasized. Punisher has also worked with evil organizations and been manipulated a zillion times over the years. None of this is new.

And Maria wasn't alive the whole time. The Hand resurrected her to draw Frank in.

Do people even read the books they complain about?
