I am 99 percent sure of what's going to happen.

Moira was never a mutant. When she got sick, the doctor who visited her was Sinister (or one of them) and made her into a mutant. By stopping him, she never becomes a mutant, and therefore lives life as the pre retcon Moira.

If they depower Moira before age 13, it should create a divergent timeline when she would have contracted the Legacy Virus. Presumably everything would proceed the same. She wouldnt get the Legacy Virus thus leading her to make different decisions, leading to its own butterfly effect. If they kill her as a child, then everything should change

I took the advice of the OP and a few others and actually schlep to the comic story to buy this in physical copy, and I'm glad I did. It was brilliant and gorgeous and a "send off" for a great era that's true to its name. I'm savoring it moreso because I have a horrible feeling about the next "movie rights!" era *sigh*

Sadly I thought I was getting FoHX too, but with so my variants and side by side and the logos so similar I bought two copies by accident, much to my ire.

Not quite. A Dominion isn't a distinct entity. It's an alliance of Titans. Kind of like the X-Men aren't a single being, but rather a group of mutants working together. Gillen has essentially retconned what Dominions are.

I was a bit disappointed with "Fall" last week, but "Rise of the Powers of X" had me hooked the entire read. The art was absolutely beautiful and R.B. Silve is the only artist who could've done this story justice. I'm not big on the future and science fiction aspects of the Krakoan era, but Gillen made this all so compelling. I can't wait to see how this wraps up.
The OG New Mutants are my favorite team (and comic book) and I'm happy to see Doug being given such a spotlight. Hickman took his power set and made it crucial to the mutants. But, two things I'm interested to find out: what is Doug's new ability and how does Doug keep his "clout' once Krakoa is over?

The art pops so beautifully on the physical page than it ever could digitally. I reopened my pull list at my shop for this series.

With Moira the simplest narrative option might be to deponer her before her mutant gift manifest and then have everything that happened originally still happened except for Krakoa. The thing is though, I don't think that's necessarily the direction they are going, especially as it would erase/take away some of the characters that were brought into play because of Krakoa (Thunderbird, Synch, Banshee). I really think there will be twist/curveball before this is over.

fun idea... do like you said... depower Moira before her first life... but then slightly maneuver her into still having Proteas and still have her help the xmen until her power start to remanifest just intime to die of the legacy virus... AKA everything as we knew before HoX/PoX... BUT... xavier then goes and messes with himself mag and essex to make them THINK she was always behind all this.... enough for them to still start Kroaka, brings all the mutants, but minus the Moira... and when you get the Sins of Sinister, there is no mutant Moira in this new reality, so Sinister can't win... and Xavier puts our few mutants back into the timeline (so himself doug ect ect) merging them with themselves then... and knowing all of this, as this version of Rasputin comes in and just wacks mother not so righteous.

Fall of X from the ashes what ever comes next moves FORWARD not retconing the stories just re aligning them.

It's days like this I think DC had the right idea rebooting their universe every so often. Yeah it never ends up being popular and what changes they do make typically have to be walked back but just....in the end it might actually be less headache.

I mean if they retcon the last few years of X stories (that crossed over a bunch) I'm pretty sure that is the same thing

I like the idea of them wanting to hit Moira before she got her mutant powers. Even though Enigma is a Dominion that acts outside of time/space by her ceasing to repeat lives puts it existence into a paradox which is the bane of computers.

However, I fully expect when Rasputin or whoever travels back in time it's either going to be Sinister gave her the X-Gene to begin with or they're going to have a heart-to-heart talk with her. Either way it will alter the timeline but they've removed a large number of the mutants out of space/time as well so you can end up with a revised history for some of the mutants and others can come back with memories intact. Hickman did the same thing with his Secret Wars which makes me think that even though it got extended this may be based on his notes of how we was planning to end it.
