    Punk?

They threw a dump truck full of cash at the guy, and he was sidelined most of the time because he is apparently make out of fine crystal.

Seems like they could be working out exactly how sturdy Mone is before they get her in the ring on a regular basis.
Punk worked ok from August 2021 to May 2022 when he 1st broke his ankle diving into fans. He then tore his right triceps in a match a few months later.

The possibility with Mone is …this could be setting up a return of Britt Baker to face Mercedes here. The sneak attack by a mystery woman makes sense it could be her.

Plus this is something called long term build in a sense. You’re building a program for Mone to face the winner at Double or Nothing as we see. So I can see it as common sense there.

But the mystery attacker possibly costing her at the PPV and it being Baker would be a great set up for their program.

One of the claims Punk made that isn’t mentioned is…he paid for his own triceps surgery in 2022. This had Tony Khan on who replied “this doesn’t sound right. I’ll have to look into it…”

Khan claimed if it’s true he will reimburse Punk the money.

But again…you’re the owner of this company and you don’t know if your top star is paying for his own surgery? This is really something you should know about.

That was never what Punk said.

Punk said that they didn't support him at all in the rehabilitation process. Punk had to figure out everything on his own. THEN when he got the bills for all of that, he was able to re-direct them to AEW, and then they paid for it.

His issue was that unlike WWE, where if you get hurt they have a plan in place to walk you through everything, he was left to his own devices.

It was never that he had to pay out of pocket and they didn't support that.

Look it's shitty enough as is for these guys to have to go it alone on their rehab journey, but let's not add onto that by saying it wasn't paid for, too.

I listened to his entire appearance on the MMA Hour, did whoever presented Tony with this question not do so themselves?

sounds like punk complains whichever way the injuries are handled. wwe way where they tell you what doctor to see and when you see them or aew way where you find your own doctor make appointment and send the company the bill. i'm sure there's pros & cons to each approach.

Tony Khan is going to unify the AEW and RoH trio titles at Destiny. Good! Having two sets of trio belts is pointless

    Indeed.

I met a guy that's a lawyer for AEW and WWE wrestlers during the Howard Finkel AMA the other day.

His take was cool to read:
IAAL in employment and contract law with clients that are WWE and AEW talent.

All wrestlers for WWE and AEW are required by their contracts to carry full medical insurance policies. Typically the companies will reimburse or outright pay for any out of pocket expense their incur for an injury (deductible, co-pays, non covered expenses) as well as they are paid their full contracted salary during an injury. Any other follow up care they need to receive (physical therapy, massage, specialists, etc) that may not be covered or covered less by their insurance is picked up by the company. There have been isolated cases where they were reimbursed for their insurance premium during injury periods too.

This is different from the "old days" before the insurance clause was added to their contracts after Obama Care passed and the mandate for all Americans originally went into place (no longer enforced). WWE and WCW before that would legit pay for all medical expenses as full billed rate. So for a substantial injury with surgery you were talking what could be a few hundred thousand. Rehab expenses the WWE continues to pay at full amount wlth zero out of pocket to the person. Which starts at $50k for a 28 day program.
Kinda shitty IMHO on both ends but WWE's seems better.

I hope they retain the Six Man name over the Trios name.

Might as well unify all the ROH belts at this point.

ROH has been the better show, too, which kinda sucks.

Dumb...It's not like this is Smackdown and RAW, it's two different promotions. Too much blending and all it does is take away from RoH...

Most of the guys that Tony has given RoH titles to don't regularly appear on the show. As far as I know the bullet club boys haven't appeared on RoH TV since winning them. It makes me question what's the point of the show having it's own championship

Wonder if that qr code and bird flash during HHHs entrance will mean anything.

The new WWE tag team championship

It looks similar to the classic belts. I like it. The center plate needs color.

If you were only functional for nine months of a two year run?

You were sidelined for most of the time you were there.
