in the myths... it's kind of said that Circe was actually KILLED.

So, she was more than Human... but... not that much more.

Then again, most of the demi-gods in the old stories end up dead eventually.

    Interesting.
I guess that, at the end of the day, comic book writers (or any writer who bases their writing on old myths) picks & chooses, mixes & matches and simply decides what to use or not to use from those myths to tell their stories.
I think it would be interesting if modern WW writers explored Circe's old school parentage.
In any case, Circe should be one of DC's strongest, most powerful villains. The kind of villain whose name alone makes people cower in fear.

Well, here's a fun twist for you: In the myth where Circe dies.... her daughter Cassiphone kills the man who killed Circe.

Wait what?!!? Yeah, Circe in the old stories had SEVERAL children.... some with the hero who famously beat her by invading Aeaea, but... we have no idea who fathered Cassiphone. Hehe, I'd write Cassiphone in as part of Circe's family if I was doing new stories, just so Lyta has a big sister to look out for her.

I couldn't agree with you more. Such a characterization would be amazing for animated (or live-action) Circe.

Madelyne Pryor without her underboob costume just isn't Madelyne Pryor to me. It's funny how she's recognizable and still sexy, but it doesn't hit the same. It's like the sanitized Disney+ version or something that's not as Evil.

The threat level is more important than how she dresses in my opinion.

Oh yeah, Goblin Queen!!! She was awesome in that scene! Girl has been trending recently, and of course I could not help but to think of Circe. Come to think about it, every single time I see a badass showing of a sorceress in Hollywood media, I immediately think of Circe. Happened with Charlize Theron's evil queen in Snow White and the Snowman, Elizabeth Hurley playing Morgan Le Fay in Runaways, Agatha in Wandavision, and now Madeline Pryor in X-Men 97.

Mind you, so is Betsy's ninja thong leotard or even most of Emma Frost's outfits. It's not like she's wearing a nun's habit.

And that's oversexualized compared to how Madelyne looked in the actual storyline...

But, speaking of Circe...I wonder if the rumor that this outfit was meant to be much more revealing - the sheer panels were added? - has any ring of truth to it?
