No. He's a brain in a jar. This is regular beast who was made overtly evil so they can reset him to the movie version for synergy

Wait, they deliberately made him evil just to reset him?!

As for 'resetting', I'm hoping this is just bringing the original's soul back and this thing that's being doing the bad stuff is some sort of fake.
